I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend and are feeling refreshed. I am sorry I did not post anything yesterday, I had everything written out and didn't hit "publish."
FOR HOMEWORK:
Math: POW due Friday, my math class: Rounding homework (both sides)
Reading: Reading Reflection (one question one summary)
Writing: Lit devices booklets should be done...
Vocab: WW14 (this is the last list in the 6th grade book). Quiz/WW due Friday
PARENTS AND STUDENTS
As we roll into our second trimester together, its important to note that expectations are only getting higher as you are evolving into a more mature, studious student :).
Some things that have changed:
(1) For our class book analysis, you now have the option to complete the 6th grade summa expectation (if you are headed to summa or are wanting an extra challenge in class, you should be pushing yourself to complete this).
(2) POW now has two questions (one class that everyone is expected to do and a challenge question.... please push yourself to do both).
(3) Flocabulary cumulative exams will now be every four units as opposed to three. You have the option to take the test without the list of 60 words. If you are wanting an extra challenge, learn how to spell these correctly and take the test without the word list.
(4) You will only be give one bathroom ticket per week. Use it wisely.
(5) No name papers will be deposited in the recycling. Students need to get in the habit of writing their first and last names on their papers. When they go to middle school, they will not be the only student with their given name (in most cases :)).
(6) If you come unprepared to class, class Dojo will report this. You can still ask for extensions, but telling me the day of that an assignment is due is not acceptable. If you need an extension, you need to ask PRIOR to the due date. Self advocacy is an important skill and one you will need to have in middle school :).
