Dream up an invention.

Think about life before microwaves, laptop computers or airplanes. Is it hard to imagine? So many inventions that were once extraordinary have changed the way we live and are now a normal part of modern life. For this week's contest, come up with an invention that changes how we communicate, travel, eat, learn—anything! What do you think could make life easier to the point that we can't remember how we ever lived without it? If applicable, feel free to attach an illustration to your entry.

Writing: Your "My Life" assignment was due today.  We will start our first formal essay tomorrow.

Reading: You will have library for the first time tomorrow, so you will be able to start our reading homework tomorrow. (Expectations will be explained tomorrow.)

Social Studies: Study the first 8 facts on the pink sheet in your binder.  You will have a quiz on Thursday.
