IMPORTANT NOTE:
In class, we read the classic novel, The Giver, by
Lois Lowry. This is a sixth grade
challenge read and one that students were really invested in. Because of the high interest students
expressed, I have been given permission from my administrator to show the movie
for a compare/contrast writing assignment.
This is a PG-13 movie, but there was only one scene that made it receive
this rating. If you’re curious of the

We will be watching this video on November 25. If you do not want your child to watch this
movie, an alternative assignment will be given.
