Hey, class!
For homework this weekend... you have.... nothing, really (unless you didn't get your work done this week).
Math: POW challenge
Reading: Read (responses start back up on Monday)
Vocab: WW9 was due today -- it's due Monday if you didn't finish this week. Next Friday you have your cumulative flocab exam for unit 7-10. You will get unit 10 words on Monday.
Science: Next week we will finish body systems and your project will be due on Friday.
Writing: You will finish your prewrite on Monday and begin your draft next week. I am anticipating that your final draft will be due the following Monday.
Have a nice weekend :).

Tuesday
Hey, class!
I hope everyone had a great three day weekend! Thank you to those of you who came back ready to work hard!
For homework:
Math: P.O.W. due Friday, math quiz is homework (if you didn't finish it last Friday)
Class: Jack, Art, Fran, and Megan work as volunteers at the local kennel. Jack gives the dogs baths every 4 days; Art cleans out cages every 6 days; Fran feeds the animals in Section B every 2 days; and Megan helps the receptionist every 3 days. How many times in 12 weeks will all 4 helpers be at the clinic on the same day?
CHALLENGE: From 11 positive integer scores on a 10-point quiz, the mean is 8, the median is 8, and the mode is 7. Find the maximum number of perfect scores possible on this test.
Vocab: WW9/Quiz due Friday (you will have a cumulative text next friday over 60 words... unit 7-10... don't procrastinate -- start studying now)
Science: We will continue our work on body systems tomorrow. Be prepared! If you're on track, you should have your drawings and paragraphs done for the circulatory and respiratory system. Tomorrow we will read about the digestive system. You will be creating your final presentation this week (the poster board with your drawings/paragraphs).
Writing: We will begin our pre-write for our argumentative paper tomorrow. Although we have already won the "This week in Rap" shout-out contest, please feel free to continue to tackle the "Challenge" prompts.

Cover a Week in Rap story.
In the Week in Rap, we summarize news stories in the lyrics and expand on each story in an info box. For this week's contest, pay attention to the news this week and select a news story to cover WIR-style. Write 2-4 lines summarizing the story in lyrics, and write an accompanying paragraph with additional details. Make sure to include a link to a news source for the story.
Have a great evening!
Ms. Evans
