Friday notes...

Hey class!

I am sorry that we had to have such a stern morning, but there is no reason why I should come back from a day out to hear that the class was boisterous and disrespectful.  All of you have the ability to be the best version of yourself and work hard to grow academically and personally this year.  Remember that the hardest years in school are making the transition from 5th to 6th grade and from 8th to 9th.  I am hard on you because I was you to succeed and dominate middle school.  None of you are inept. Let's work hard to push ourselves and each other to reach our maximum potential.  We are at the end of week three and should really know what is expected by now.  You're in control of your own actions and behaviors and I expect that you do everything in your power to be the best person you can be.

Ok... Moving on...

Today we had a very math oriented day.  I do want you all to be mindful when you complete your P.O.W. next week that you will be critiquing work.  This means you need to take extra care when you explain your steps (so they are easy to follow).  If you have questions on your P.O.W. after the normal Monday morning work time, it is important you see me at recess or before school if you're struggling.  As responsible learners, it is important not to wait until the day it is due to see me.  In middle school, that will not be acceptable.  Let's form strong habits now. :).

You do not have homework this weekend, but I do want to remind you that you will have your cumulative flocabulary test next Friday.  That means you will be tested on units 1-3 all together (using the same format as our morning vocabulary warm ups -- fill in the blank, synonym, antonyms) AND you will take a normal unit 4 vocab test (multiple choice).  The cumulative test should not be mind-blowing if you have been using your words and reviewing them a little each day.

I hope you all have a great weekend with your families.  It is my objective that we strive to get all "5's" next week.

Ms. Evans
