For homework:

SAVE THE GROANS...

Vocab: WW13 due Tuesday you get back... there will be a quiz on those words as well.

Reading: You are responsible for completing four RR. (Pick the days you want to complete them... you have six days of school off... I believe this should be very doable.)

Writing: Your "Giver" work is due next Friday.  This gives you ample time to complete it over your six day break or procrastinate... I would budget your time and complete it over the break :).

Math: Cr- hmwk, I- hmwk, Ev- Lesson 19.

-  "The Giver" permission slip signed and turned in.
-  Electronics reward tomorrow -- because you all worked hard during specials and received sixteen 6s, you will be given 20 minutes as a reward to play with an electronic device of your choice (gameboy-type deal, tablet, ipod, ipad, phone... no getting crazy and brining laptops/pc/xbox/ridiculousness).  Whatever you bring in is YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE CARE OF.  You will not take these to recess, to lunch, to specials or any other place... this will be only for the classroom and only for a selected period of time.  There will be school laptops for you to use in the event that you do not have/cannot take an electronic device to school.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

In class, we read the classic novel, The Giver, by Lois Lowry.  This is a sixth grade challenge read and one that students were really invested in.  Because of the high interest students expressed, I have been given permission from my administrator to show the movie for a compare/contrast writing assignment.  This is a PG-13 movie, but there was only one scene that made it receive this rating.   If you’re curious of the specific reason, please check out this link -- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435651/parentalguide.

We will be watching this video on November 25.  If you do not want your child to watch this movie, an alternative assignment will be given.
